Conical wise I was thinking of something akin to a very large mini ball. Hollow base, good seal, weight forward. Obviously I wouldn't need handles for the mold and the pieces could be held together with studs and wing nuts (much like my lead hammer molds).
The Minié ball, or Minie ball, is a type of bullet used extensively in the American Civil War.The muzzle-loading rifle bullet was named after its co-developer, Claude-Étienne Minié. Although the Minié ball was conical in shape, it was commonly referred to as a "ball," due to the round shape of the ammunition that had been used for centuries.
I joined a FaceBook group that is for people interested only in cap and ball pistols and flintlock and percussion rifles---i.e., no modern black powder weapons. They discuss the difference between round ball and conical bullets. My opinion is that patched round balls are the most accurate. However, if you are shooting for groups on paper, then ...
The Hardinge Conical Ball Mill —because of its conical shape—offsets one of the serious disadvantages found in the cylindrical, compartment type mill, i. e., unproportionate speeds for the different size balls. In the latter type mill, the smaller balls travel at the same rate of speed as the larger balls, the height of fall in the ...
catheter [kath´ĕ-ter] a tubular, flexible instrument, passed through body channels for withdrawal of fluids from (or introduction of fluids into) a body cavity. Straight catheters. May have one or two eyes, a round tip, or a "whistle" tip. These catheters are not self-retaining. acorn-tipped catheter one used in ureteropyelography to occlude the ...
The point group assignment depends on how the pairs of spokes (attached to both the front and back of the hub) connect with the rim. If the pairs alternate with respect to their side of attachment, the point group is D8d. Other arrangements are possible, and different ways in which the spokes cross can affect the point group assignment;

A boron nitride (BN) nanostructure, conical BN nanorod, has been synthesized in a large quantity on Si substrates for the first time via the ball-milling and annealing method.

177 gr. .490" Round Ball & .015" Thick Lubed Patch. 370 gr. .501" diameter T/C Maxi-Ball. First offered for the .50 and .45 caliber T/C Hawken rifles, Warren Center's conical bullet design measured just shy of being twice as long as in diameter. The 370-grain .50 caliber bullet measures .501" across at the upper bearing band, and .947" in length.
The conical angle is the angle formed at the top of the triangle when a line is drawn straight down the center forming two right triangles. Calculate the tangent of this angle by dividing half of the base distance of the original triangle by the height. For a conical taper of 0.25 inches per inch, divide 0.125 by 1. This equals 0.125 inches.
SPEC ® Conical compression springs are cone shaped to provide near constant spring rates and significantly more travel or lower solid height than traditional compression springs. Because of the tapered shape these springs can be referred to as tapered springs. The improved solid height is achieved by nesting active springs within each other during compression.
This video is an accuracy comparison between round balls and conical bullets. Both will be fired, using the 1847 Colt Walker. Be sure to subscribe to my chan...
Together the two Sams designed a behemoth of a sixgun. It weighed 41/2 pounds, had a 9″ barrel and fired a .44 caliber conical or round ball projectile. Its massive 19/16″ cylinder could hold up to 60 grains of blackpowder under a 148-gr. round ball. That's as much powder as later Civil War rifle-muskets used with 450-gr. Minie-balls.
Both butterfly and ball valves are sub-classified as "high recovery valves". As a general rule, globe and eccentric plug (rotary globe) styles tend to make "better" throttling control valves.-6-Cond. 1 Cond. 2 Throttling Valve Upstream Downstream LIQUID (Non-Compressible)
The following article is from The Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1979). It might be outdated or ideologically biased. Conic Projections cartographic projections in which the parallels are represented by concentric circles and the meridians by orthogonal straight lines. In conic projections, distortions do not depend on longitude. They are especially ...
Ball-N-Cone™ isolators utilize two matching conical shaped load plates with a steel ball bearing sandwiched between. They are used in various forms and sizes within our entire isolation product catalog. The Ball-N-Cone™ load plates feature a gravity restoring design. This allows the ball bearing to travel up the slope of the lower load plate.

We construct examples showing that the normalized Lebesgue measure of the conical limit set of a uniformly quasiconformal group acting discontinuously on the disc may take any value between zero and one. This is in contrast to the cases of Fuchsian groups acting on the disc, conformal groups acting discontinuously on the ball in dimension three ...
The conical pendulum. Suppose that an object, mass, is attached to the end of a light inextensible string whose other end is attached to a rigid beam. Suppose, further, that the object is given an initial horizontal velocity such that it executes a horizontal circular orbit of radius with angular velocity . …
